Wallpaper borders are a very inexpensive way to add a little color and pattern to your bedroom. This has been a popular interior design technique for homeowners ever since wallpaper was invented and made easily available through catalogs and department stores. But is it the best solution for your bedroom?
Well, that just depends on the type of bedroom you're designing. If you are putting together a Victorian, traditional, or country style bedroom, then a Regal, floral, or paisley wallpaper border would be a nice touch that is inexpensive and easy to apply.
But if you were to ask an interior designer if they would use a wallpaper border, many would probably say "no". Most designers and professionals normally do not use wallpaper borders because: 1) they're being paid to be more creative than that, and 2) there are so many other permanent and beautiful alternatives, such as crown molding, paint, paneling, and other materials that will add value to your home and heighten the overall design.
So, if you do want to add some pizazz on your bedroom walls with wallpaper, a border may be the answer, but do not dismiss other alternatives and design solutions, because there may be something else more appealing and cost effective in the end.
